Modern office spaces and various commercial areas are to be created in a historic commercial building. The aim is to preserve the valuable listed building fabric while integrating a contemporary interior design. The original character of the building will be preserved by retaining striking elements. The skilful fusion of historical architecture with modern design gives the building its unique character.

Preserving and upgrading

When converting the historic building, particular attention is paid to a harmonious combination of preservation and modernisation. The "conservation" approach aims to preserve the original style of the building type. Historic elements such as roof trusses and half-framework are retained and upcycled objects are incorporated into the new design.

We focus on high-quality, durable and natural materials. These include wood, brick, glass and a colour scheme with white lime paint, which creates an authentic and sustainable atmosphere. Extensive indoor and outdoor planting harmonises the overall picture, optimises the indoor climate, improves the air quality and has a positive effect on the working environment.

Modernisation

At the same time, the historic building is being extensively refurbished to make it suitable for office and commercial use. This comprehensive refurbishment includes a modern, functional design that allows the building to be used in a new, economically viable way. The rooms will have a high-quality, contemporary design with materials such as black steel, exposed concrete, polished screed, terrazzo-look porcelain stoneware and visible pipes. Digital elements are integrated to improve functionality and comfort.

Versatile use

The building comprises several wings, each of which will be redesigned for different purposes. In addition to modern office space, commercial spaces with various uses, such as a climbing hall, a greenhouse and a selection of gastronomic offerings such as restaurants and cafés, will also be realised.
